Alumni Spotlight: Sonny Bridges

Our director of admissions and graduate support, Mr. Linwood Johnson, had a chance to sit down for a chat with Sonny Bridges, a 2017 St. Andrew’s School graduate. Sonny currently attends St. Christopher’s School, and is heavily involved in his school’s basketball program.

Sonny remembered his time at St. Andrew’s School as being very enjoyable. “All of the teachers were there to help no matter if you were in their class or not,” he said. “Even when you moved on a grade, you still share that connection with the previous teacher.”

At St. Christopher’s School, Sonny has learned time management skills, and how to build connections that can lead to success. Working in tandem with these skills are the lessons he learned in his time at St. Andrew’s School.

“I think my time at SAS taught me to be resourceful.”

Sonny feels as though many of the projects he worked on at St. Andrew’s School helped him learn to think outside of the box. He plans to be involved in the college basketball scene after leaving high school.

Before parting ways, Mr. Johnson asked Sonny who he would consider his hero to be. “My sisters are my heroes,” Sonny shared. Sonny’s younger sister is currently attending St. Andrew’s School in the first grade.
