Alumni Spotlight: Tenel Robinson

We were so excited to have Tenel Robinson, class of 2011, come and visit us.

Tenel, 18, who is entering his sophomore year at Hampton University, says St. Andrew’s School (SAS) taught him how to “be a person first.”

“Being here puts you in a different social setting,” he recalls.

Some of his fondest memories from his time at SAS are helping to start the garden in the courtyard at the school, going on field trips to Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens, and having a piece of his artwork sell at the school’s fundraising auction.

After SAS, Tenel attended Salem Church Middle School and then the Center for Leadership & International Relations at James River High School. He said the four cornerstones of academics at James River HS were service, charity, leadership, and honesty.

At Hampton, Tenel is majoring in Strategic Communications/Pre-Law, and hopes to one day to be a sports agent. He will spend this upcoming school year as a Parliamentarian – a position he ran and was elected for – who helps run meetings focused on fundraising and events.
